Rochester Hills & Rochester Schools are divided into to two school districts.
Rochester Community Schools is a top-rated, public school district located in Rochester, MI. It has 15,337 students in grades PK -12 with a student-teacher ratio of 19 to 1. Two Rochester Community Schools have been awarded Gold and Silver Medals by US News & World Report and they are a National Blue Ribbon School. Avondale School District is an above average, public school district located in Auburn Hills, MI. It has 3,484 students in grades PK, K-12 with a student-teacher ratio of 17 to 1. The district focuses on real-world learning that goes beyond the text-book by offering student ownership, project-based learning and design thinking. Students are afforded opportunities for exploration and growth through a full range of Visual and Performing arts classes and clubs as well as STEM-based classes and clubs and many many other enrichment options from elementary to high school.
