Are you thinking about buying new construction? There are a few things you need to know about. Hi, this is Michele Shinedling, Owner/Broker at Heritage Real Estate, and if you’re looking to buy new construction, you need to make sure you are working with a builder you are comfortable communicating with. You’ll still want a real estate agent to represent you. You’re not saving yourself any money by not having one. The builder has already set aside money for the buyer’s agent fee. Remember, when buying new construction, the agent in the office represents the seller, they have the SELLER’s best interest at heart, not yours. Be sure to have representation to protect YOU. Often we can even negotiate upgrades, like sod, sprinklers, landscaping and appliances, AND save our clients thousands of dollars while buying new construction. Remember, using an agent is free to the buyer: the builder pays our fees, but we’re here to protect YOU!!!
